Trent Amond has been appointed the new Treasurer for Section III Athletics. The Executive Committee unanimously approved Amond’s appointment at their quarterly meeting in June 2020.
 
“I am excited to be joining Section III.  Having been involved in interscholastic athletics as a teacher, administrator, and coach, I look forward to working with all the members of Section III to support the athletic programs of our member schools during these challenging times, Amond said.
 
Trent arrives at Section III after working for six years as the Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer at the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority. Under his leadership, he led negotiation of a nine-year Airport Use Agreement and developed a totally new financial model for determining airline rates and charges. He developed the operating ($30 million) and capital budgets for the Board of Directors. He was responsible for all financial functions, including treasury management. Trent successfully managed the financial aspects of a $65 million expansion/renovation project financed by a mix of state, local and sponsor funds, including a bank line of credit and intermediate-term, tax-exempt financing. 

Amond brings a wealth of educational experience to his new role with Section III. After serving four years as the Head of Schools for the Columbia Independent School in Columbia, MO and was also the Director of Finance & Operations at the Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, WA. Trent possesses a variety of teaching experience as a Adjunct Instructor at Le Moyne College and OCC, as well as Math and History teacher at Manlius Pebble Hill. The business and social studies teacher also served as the head coach of the MPH varsity tennis team for two years. Currently, Trent is active as a certified high school soccer official in Central New York.

We believe his financial leadership experience will help Section III Athletics continue to provide outstanding opportunities for student athletes.”        

Amond is presently a Justice for Town of Pompey and is serving in as rotations presiding judge in the Centralized Arraignments Part (CAP) Court for Onondaga County. He earned his A.B (cum laude in Engineering and Economics) from Harvard University, his master’s in Business Administration in Accounting at Syracuse University and his J.D. (magna cum laude) also from Syracuse University.

Amond and his wife Janet have two children and make their home in Jamesville.
