CHITTENANGO, N.Y. — April 28, 2026
Chittenango junior Reese Ferstler reached a major career milestone on Tuesday night, scoring the 100th varsity goal of her career in an 11–6 victory over Southern Hills on April 28.
Ferstler netted one goal in the win, putting her at the 100 career goal mark. She also contributed three ground balls, helping the Bears maintain possession and control the tempo against Southern Hills. Her milestone goal came as part of a balanced offensive effort that saw Chittenango pull away during the second period to secure the road victory.
Chittenango improved its record with the win behind a dominant seven-goal performance from Anna Lazzaro, but it was Ferstler’s milestone strike that stood out as the moment of the night, marking a personal achievement built over four varsity seasons.
Now a junior, Ferstler has established herself as one of the most reliable offensive players in the program. With her goal against Southern Hills, she officially reached 100 career goals, along with 35 assists and 76 ground balls across her varsity career.
Her scoring has increased steadily each season:
2023: 2 goals, 2 assists
2024: 24 goals, 10 assists
2025: 50 goals, 14 assists
2026 (through April 28): 24 goals, 9 assists
Ferstler’s breakout came during her sophomore season, when she surpassed the 50-goal mark and emerged as a primary scoring option. That momentum has carried over into her junior year, where she entered the Southern Hills matchup one goal shy of the century mark and quickly capitalized on the opportunity.
This season alone, Ferstler has produced multiple multi-goal outings, including a six-goal performance against Bishop Ludden-Grimes and four goals in a win over Cortland, showing her ability to contribute in big moments.
As Chittenango continues its 2026 campaign, Ferstler’s milestone serves as both a personal achievement and a reflection of her consistent impact on the program. With more of her junior season still ahead, she figures to add plenty more to her already impressive career totals.
