Chittenango junior Lauren Machan reached a significant milestone in her varsity career on Saturday, April 11, achieving her 100th career hit during the Bears' impressive 14–2 win over Little Falls.
Machan had a standout game, both hitting and pitching, batting .500 with a single, a double, and 1 stolen base. On the pitching side, she threw for 6 innings, notching 14 strikeouts with an ERA of only 1.17.
As a 5-year varsity player, she has emerged as one of the team's most dependable offensive and defensive threats.
As of this week, Machan boasts an impressive career batting average hovering just below .500. She has consistently delivered in crucial moments, blending extra-base hits with speed. This spring, she has seamlessly continued her strong performances, setting the tone for the Bears' lineup.
More than just statistics, Machan’s achievement symbolizes her durability and relentless work ethic. Joining the ranks of a select group of Chittenango players who have reached 100 career hits, this milestone adds yet another highlight to an already exceptional high school career.
With plenty of the season still remaining, expect Machan’s bat to play a crucial role as the Bears strive through league play and look to chase another sectional title.
